Getting there:

The parking area is located at the trailhead, and it's accessible from the main road. To get to the trailhead, take exit 452 off of I-90 and follow the signs to the Four Dances Natural Area. The trailhead is located just a short walk from the parking area.

Our experience: This hike was one of the most pleasantly surprising hikes we've had. Driving on I90 just past Billings, Montana, we were looking for a hike to take a break from being in the car for long. We came across Four Dances Recreation Area. The name sounded cool (plus it was dog-friendly), so we decided to go. As you can see from the pictures, it was a gloomy day, so we were the only ones there. We were greeted by the park ranger and he was very helpful and friendly. The hike is fairly steep at times but generally an easy hike.

Bogo and Kiwi loved walking here because of the elevation change and the changes in the topography and the vegetation throughout the walk. The view are incredible. We let our dogs off-leash but please be mindful of other visitors when you decided to do so.
